Product Description Movie DVD
Outline Being a hero is a lot to live up to and for Elliot (Larry the Cucumber), Sedgewick (Mr. Lunt), and George (Pa Grape), working as cabin boys in the local dinner theater's pirate show looks like it may be as close to heroic as any of them ever get. Back in the 17th century, heir to the throne Prince Alexander has been captured by his evil uncle Robert and his sister Princess Eloise is determined to rescue him. A magical ball bequeathed by Eloise's father magically transports Elliot, Sedgewick, and George back in time via rowboat in answer to the Princess's request for heroes, but their timidity, laziness, and lack of self confidence looks like it will prevent the trio from fulfilling their heroic mission. As the three friends struggle with their own shortcomings, they eventually discover that being heroic may be as simple as just doing what is right. Still, can they possibly live up to the expectations of the Princess and fulfill their apparent heroic destiny? This is a captivating pirate movie full of adventure, cute characters, funny moments, and catchy music that imparts a wholesome message without being either preachy or overtly religious. Best of all, this swashbuckling film won't scare even the most sensitive young viewer. (Ages 2 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

| My 2 boys love Veggie Tales but this one tops them all! My younger boy, almost two, keeps asking for Rock Monster, the music video at the end. It's a great movie that both kids and adults can enjoy :o) | | | | cute movie Feb 15, 2010 |
Although I was a bit skeptical at first, I found that I really liked and enjoyed this movie. To me, it was a really pleasant and positive movie, and the attack of the killer cheese puffs really cracked me up. The dvd extras include how to draw some of the characters, some fun and games as well as a great activity to try with your family, and an alternate ending which I thought was pretty cute. Oh yeah, there is a song called "rock monster" which is a parody of the song "rock lobster" by the b-52's. I really loved that part and had that song stuck in my head for the next day or so. So, you should give this movie a try. It's got a great message in it that I think applies to everyone. | | | | A Favorite in our Home! Feb 6, 2010 |
| My kids just LOVE this movie! They would watch it all day long if I let them! We all love the Rock Monster music video at the end. Very silly and fun for the kids to dance to! :-) | | | | Sutle Theme Feb 5, 2010 |
| I think it might have taken me 2 times watching this to get the idea of what they were trying to teach with this, but the "what it takes to be a hero" part was obvious enough for kids to get. And it showed a princess doing what was right, even when it was hard or dangerous, as well as male veggies learning that they had what it takes ('Wild at Heart' reference.) But when I saw the King (parallel to God) burst in to the rescue with light right when all seamed lost made me tear up. A good good vs evil story. | | | Write your own review about Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie (Widescreen)
