Publishers Description
Marrying a handsome, wealthy lawyer and living in a Hollywood Hills mansion...it's a dream come true for twenty-four-year-old Jana, from the moment Lawrence Collins swept her off her feet and into his luxurious world. True, she put her studies at a local Bible college on hold in order to wed after a six-month whirlwind romance. Beautiful and vivacious, with a stunning body, Jana knows men like Lawrence don't come along every day, and she vows to be a perfect companion -- the ideal wife -- to this sexy, powerful man. But at what price?

From her wardrobe and hairstyle to her friends and her choice of church, Lawrence seems to want to change Jana into someone she's not...and soon, the man Jana thought she knew will test her values and her faith with a shocking revelation that goes against everything she believes. How far will Jana be willing to go to keep the man she loves? With her "ideal" marriage falling apart, Jana -- the real, modest, smart, and strong girl who knows what she stands for -- must put her trust in God, and follow His guiding light out of the darkness of a broken relationship.

Standing Strong  Jan 25, 2010
Though there was no suspense as to what the conflict would be this turned out to be a very good read. The book shows the importance of standing strong and holding on to your beliefs. I would definitely read it again.

Loved it!!!  Jan 24, 2010
When I first started the book I assumed I knew where it was going but I was very surprised of the outcome. I always enjoy books that keep me wanting to know more. I aslo liked how the author was very detailed in the story. I loved the book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

The Not-So-Ideal Husband  Jan 6, 2010
Jana, a woman with strong Christian values, must deal with the curve ball the devil throws at her the form of her seemingly perfect and loving new husband, who has an appetite for porn and group sex. The dialogue gets a little repetitive at times and Jana's naivete is unintentionally comical in some places. (Before Lawrence, she'd lived a sheltered life, but still...)Overall this is a strong, entertaining read.

Jana realizes she really doesn't know Lawrence.Jana's faith and values are constantly put to the test.Although Jana loves her husband, she must put her trust in God and let God lead her on the right path. The story was fast paced and well written.Definitely a good read!

Where Is Your Faith ?  Dec 28, 2009
Jana Collins has the ideal life. She married Lawrence Collins, a well known and very wealthy Hollywood lawyer. She lives in a beautiful home in Hollywood Hills. She had everything going for her, except for one thing...her husband didn't want anything to do with her faith in God. Before marrying Lawrence, Jana was completely focused on her religion. She was also going to bible school. Lawrence knew his wife was the ultra conservative and very spiritual. He was determined to mold her into the ideal mate, and he would stop at nothing to get what he wants.

In the beginning, Jana was eager to please her husband. Over time, she soon realized that her and Lawrence were in different places and one of the biggest issues is the church he belonged to. His church would read the bible, but then would twist things around a little. Some of the things they would do were just too unspeakable, and Jana was not having it. She soon realized they were not as compatible as she thought.

When things were not working the way she thought, she tried to do things his way. Friends and family were starting to see a different Jana, and they were getting a little concerned. Her sister Robyn and best friend Graciela were determined to make Jana see what was really going on in her marriage and in her life. Will she be too far gone for them to reach her, or will her faith in God rescue her?

I have loved every book that I've read by Jacquelin Thomas. After reading a couple of chapters, you kind of see where The Ideal Wife was going. It was becoming a little too predictable. Even though you could tell what was going to happen next, I don't think the reader would be disappointed. I always enjoy the detail that Ms. Thomas puts in her books and how you know that God is always in control. The Ideal Wife is a quick read, and overall a very good book.
