Reads WAY TOO FAST, Slow Down Brother! Nov 12, 2008
Sadly, Mr. Johnston reads way too fast for my brain. He does not even pause to take a breather between chapters, but just keeps on barreling ahead full speed. (Not that he doesn't read "well," he simply reads TOO FAST.) Like, what's the hurry, brother? ;-/ I bought his KJV and NKJV audio DVD Bibles (the NKJV was supposed to be a "slower" version of his), but I cannot listen to either. It's exhausting to try to keep up. (Maybe Mr. Johnston should make an "A.D.D. slow-brain version." ;-/ ) Disappointed.
Awesome Bible! Feb 9, 2008
This is a great tool to use for Bible reading and studying. Very well done DVD. Sound and graphics fantastic.
The Complete Holy Bible on dvd. Feb 5, 2008
This is a great way to bible study for the elderly or illiterate. I got this for my mother, who is too weak to hold a bible and cannot see the print anyway. This was a God send.
Excellent Way to Learn the Bible but Characters sound too old Dec 23, 2007
This is an easy way to learn the bible, because you can keep it running while doing chores or just resting. The only problem I have is many of the accounts are read as if the Characters are extremely old and decrepit men and the voice over are somewhat over dramatic which can cause a distraction. But other than that, I feel this is a great product. I use it often.

Reads Too Fast Aug 25, 2007
I purchased this for my husband and have just listened to a portion of it and we have both agreed it is read entirely too fast. He must have been on a time limit to get through it. There's no emotion, hesitation, it's as though he's reading a script for a commercial. Would have been much more effective, for us, if he had taken his time and allowed the listener the opportunity to comprehend what he was reading and/or saying. His voice is a little on the "nerve racking" side. I had really considered getting this for my father-in-law, who is 91, but there is no way I would purchase this again. We were both really disappointed with the purchase. We are now in search of a DVD by James Earl Jones reading the Bible. Hopefully we will be able to locate one. This purchase was made strictly because I was unable to find one with Mr. Jones that I felt my husband would enjoy. We enjoy reading and learning from the Bible, but not at break neck speeds with no emotion whatsover. I'm sure others enjoyed this, but it's just not right for us. God Bless and listen closely!
