I'm a big fan of Priscilla Shirer's Bible Studies and have participated in her Discerning the Voice of God and Can We Talk studies through my church. So, I had high expectations for One in a Million. I wasn't disappointed. This is a marvelous book! But, if you've never been exposed to Priscilla Shirer's teaching, this book is a great place to start, too.
The title, One in a Million, refers to the fact that out of approximately two million Israelites only two - Joshua and Caleb - made it to the Promised Land. Priscilla uses the Israelites' journey from Egypt to Canaan to explain what intimacy with God requires of us. Part Bible study and part spiritual memoir, the book seamlessly interweaves Scripture and personal application.
The book is organized into three sections - Deliverance (from the sin that binds us), Development (time in the wilderness where we learn to desire God above all else), and Destiny (intimacy with God that is only possible through obedience).
