A professor at Franciscan University of Steubenville, he also holds the Pope Benedict XVI Chair of Biblical Theology at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. An EXCELLANT addition to anyone's bible reading. It explains a lot of the history and who's who of the times involved. It also tells a lot about the who, what, why of the different books of the bible.

| I have just received mine but have already found it useful in defining and clarifying certain words that are used in discussions about the faith. I am quickly becoming a fan of Scott Hahn's books. My only complaint so far is that to my surprise I see there is no definition for the word sanctification. | A dictionary is a book that defines the meaning of words and provides a pronunciation. This is not a dictionary as any dictionary I have ever seen. I bought this book because my wife is a lector in our Catholic church and she needs to know how to pronounce biblical words. No where in this "dictionary" does it articulate the pronunciation of words. The book reads like an encyclopedia detailing the history of biblical words including people and places. This dictionary will provide a meaning to these words, but since there is not detail on how to pronounce these difficult words, I guess you just need to keep the meaning of these words to yourself and not speak them in fear of not pronouncing it correctly.
