Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab in First Kings, was an enemy to the work of God and a frustration to His purposes. She was a control freak, using manipulative means and wickedness to get what she wanted. Nowadays, the spirit of Jezebel is still at work in people, and it is Sampson's goal to make known her tactics. I believe you will be challenged as I was.
Its always a pleasure to read Steve's books. He usually writes with simplicity, almost like he's explaining things to you in the comfort of your living room. More importantly is the truth in the message. When applied, like all truths, it will set you free and lift you higher in your walk with Christ.

| Steve Sampson's book is more than just a manual on how to combat the spirit of Jezebel in the narrow sense. It is also a book about the spirit of flesh that is personofied by Jezebel and which threatens each of us individually as well as the larger church. One of the more interesting sections of the book contains a description of the Jezebel personality which loves to control others and operates through manipulation, intimidation and domination. The Jezebel personality is often motivated by fear and insecurity. These negative traits are apt to be deeply entrenched making it difficult to conquer them without the aid of the Holy Spirit. Sampson is more optimistic when he is talking about combatting the spirit of flesh in the broader sense. The author sees that God wants us to repent of self-centredness and become empty vessels relying solely on the Holy Spirit for guidance. God wants us to move to a higher place leaving behind weakness and defeat. On this hopeful note the book ends. Before you get to this point, however, you will probably gain a lot more respect for the destructive potential of the Jezebel spirit. | | | Write your own review about Confronting Jezebel
