Reviews - What do our customers think?
An incredible debut album  Feb 15, 2010
I bought this CD when it first came out (not sure why it took me so long to review it, perhaps I was too busy listening to the album to write it), and must say that I was pleasantly surprised, given my taste for harder-edged music (such as Skillet or Kutless, or even As I Lay Dying). There really isn't a bad song on this album, which is an incredible feat for any album, especially a debut album.

The melodies and harmonies are top-notch, and the vocalist seems like he's doing more than just singing. There is a passion in his singing, albeit a quiet kind of passion that seems to speak to the soul. The vocals seem almost friendly as well, like the band can relate to whatever you're going through (as seen on "Peace Be Still", a reminder that, in the midst of chaos, God is still in control of everything, and "Undo", a song that asks God's forgiveness).

As other reviewers have stated, the band is rock, but it's not the kind of rock that will give its listeners a headache or will blast out anyone's eardrums. I played this music for my grandparents (who are more into the music of the 1940s and 50s) and they really enjoyed this band and even asked where they could pick up a copy of the CD.

Of all the music I have collected (from the mid 1960s and 70s, plus a lot of Christian music of the last five years), there have been only three debut albums from which I have enjoyed every track: Led Zeppelin's opener "Led Zeppelin I," "Boston" by Boston, and Rush of Fools' opening effort here. (I did enjoy ROF's second album as well, but some of the chemistry and flow found on this first album seems to be missing.)

I'm not comparing ROF to Led Zeppelin or to Boston, but strong debut albums helped cement the career of those bands. Who can say what it will mean for Rush of Fools?

Decent, but not great.  Oct 2, 2009
I was actually dissapointed because these guys were so highly rated. They lack maturity in their sound. They are decent, but just not as catchy as some of the other stuff that is out.

Rush of Fools  Jan 29, 2009
I liked the fact my daughter could hear the lyrics before we bought it even thought she knew she wanted it.

One of the Best Contemporary Christian groups  Aug 15, 2008
I had heard the song "Undo" before and that is the reason that I purchased this CD. Now after listening to the rest of the songs, I am a new fan of "Rush of Fools". They represent the new Christian music and I am a big fan of both the old hymns and these new ones too. This is a great CD & I look foward to hearing more from this group.
