Overview
The author recounts his ordeal as a child spent in a Florida institution in the 1950's, where abandoned children were routinely abused and some of them possibly murdered.

Publishers Description
Hidden far from sight, deep in the thick underbrush of the North Florida woods are the ghostly graves of more than thirty unidentified bodies, some of which are thought to be children who were beaten to death at the old Florida Industrial School for Boys at Marianna. It is suspected that many more bodies will be found in the fields and swamplands surrounding the institution. Investigations into the unmarked graves have compelled many grown men to come forward and share their stories of the abuses they endured and the atrocities they witnessed in the 1950s and 1960s at the institution.

The White House Boys: An American Tragedy is the true story of the horrors recalled by Roger Dean Kiser, one of the boys incarcerated at the facility in the late fifties for the crime of being a confused, unwanted, and wayward child. In a style reminiscent of the works of Mark Twain, Kiser recollects the horrifying verbal, sexual, and physical abuse he and other innocent young boys endured at the hands of their "caretakers." Questions remain unanswered and theories abound, but Roger and the other 'White House Boys' are determined to learn the truth and see justice served.

CAPTIVATING!  Jan 20, 2010
I too found this book impossible to put down! (OK I found it impossible to leave the computer since I read on kindle-for-PC). I read it cover to cover in one sitting, eyes glued to the screen. Definitely a captivating read.

My friend Billy Bryant " www.BillyBryant.com " is a white house survivor. His life has been effected by the turn of events from the beatings at The Florida School for Boys in Mariana, Fl. That is what prompted me to read this book. What a shame that anything like this had been allowed to go on. Thank You Roger Kiser for putting your experiences into a book! The White House Boys: An American TragedyThis book is a Must Read!

Roger Dean Kiser-Author of The White House Boys  Mar 15, 2009
On March 21-22 more than 60 men and there wives will attend the first of several reunions of "The White House Boys" here in Brunswick, Georgia. Over the past three months I have talked with more than 150 men who were abused or witnesses boys being raped, tortured or killed. Whether millionaire or janitors today; each of these men have never gotten over having witnessed such terrible abuses.

The White House Boys  Mar 15, 2009
Dear Roger I have just finished reading the White House Boys. Oh boy! What can I say, it brought tears to my eyes to think that people can be so callous and cruel to children. I don't know how you survived you must be an exceptionally strong willed person. The people that committed those crimes against you and the other children will get their punishment in Hell I hope. But I sincerely hope that they will also get some form of punishment here and now. They should spend the rest of their retched lives in prison for murder and child abuse of the very worst kind.
Thank you for writing this book and exposing the truth about what happened to the Whitehouse Boys.
Regards Anne Rogers

Exposing Cruelty To Children! The Real Story Finally Told!!  Mar 6, 2009
I began reading this book just before midnight on one evening and put it down at 3 o'clock the next morning after finishing the last page. It is one of the saddest most emotional reads I've ever experienced. The author is, in my belief, one of the bravest men I have ever met. (And, believe me, after finishing the book (The White House Boys: An American Tragedy) you will feel as if you truly know the author.) And you will "feel" so much because of him you will want to contact him to ask how you can help spread the word right along with him. You'll want to know how you as a human being can help in making the world a safe place for kids instead of one that harms them.
Because through his story that is what he is trying to do.
