Overview
Having risen from an Arkansas small-town girl to a star news anchor in Houston, Raedella finds her carefully constructed world crumbling upon the arrival of her embarrassingly eccentric family, which prompts a desertion of her friends and a realization of her family's value. Reprint.

Publishers Description
Raedella Rollins left the dusty town of Sweet Poke, Arkansas, on a Texas-bound bus with four mis-matched suitcases, a newsroom job offer, and a promise to herself: never look back. Less than a decade later she's a top-rated talk show host, a celebrity news anchor, and fiancee to Houston's star councilman.

But now that she's reached the top, her ragtag family comes knocking. Mama Tee, the grandmother who raised her, calls with unwelcome family updates; and Shondella, her jealous older sister, guilts her into sending money. To Rae, nothing could be worse than an unexpected reunion with her over-the-top relatives. But when her picture-perfect life falls apart, can Rae forgive the past and open her heart to the healing that only faith and family can provide?

Vengence is mine said the Lord  Feb 8, 2007
I really enjoyed this book. It definitley is a page turner....to be honest with you I coulnd't put this book down. I just had to get to the end to find out why was Rae ran away from Sweet Poke, was Myles really a good standing brother and so on. Trust me if you read this book you will not be disappointed.

A Diva and her stank family  Jan 15, 2007
I know I reviewed this book already, but I do not see it here. I thought this book was an average read. Nothing spectacular about it. Small town girl, dreams big, makes it big, wants to leave her old life (including her family--who by the way had several nasty and using members) behind. Obviously the cards of the book won't be in her favor. They threaten to storm her job to make her see them, they always borrow money, they want her to help get murderous cousins out of trouble...can you see where it's going? Meanwhile, she has a philandering fiancee' and trouble at work. All makes for a predictable story. I will not spoil the story by saying how it ends, but if you must read, rent from the library.

Excellent Novel with a Moral Lesson to Boot  Aug 4, 2006
I Know I've Been Changed is a quick-paced novel about a young lady who thinks leaving her past behind will make her a better person. She learns the hard way that families might be dysfunctional at times, they may be frustrating, but they will always be family. Billingsley grows as a writer with each effort and I can't wait to read the next one. Zane

Super  Jul 23, 2006
From the begining of the book to the end of the book it was a great read. The style of writing was super. Rae Rollins and Myles will keep you on your toes. You must purchase to get the inside scoop for yourself.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ  Jul 16, 2006
This book did not disappoint.

It starts off with the life of Raedella Rollins and her childhood. Raedella has a desire to leave Sweet Poke, Arkansas and make it as a journalist. She is tired of living in a poor town and ever more tired of being poor. Raedella leaves her hometown and in the process leaves her family and first love behind.

Raedella arrives in Houston and becomes a smash hit with the local TV channel. As a result, she lies about her family and where she's really from. Raedella has a handsome fiancee names Myles. She thinks she has the perfect man but her best friend thinks differently.

Everything seems to be going good for Raedella and then her world comes tumbling down and she has to return to the place she hates most.

Once returning, Raedella learns the real meaning of family.

The book deals with forgiveness and how hatred will eat you up on the inside without you knowing it.
