 | Spectacular! Mar 31, 2007 |
I never expected to like this album. The only Relient K song I liked was "Getting Into You" from several years back. I had sampled their albums and didn't like anything. I sampled this on a whim when it was on the home page of an online music seller, and it blew me away. I must have listened to it 10 times over the first few days. This is from a 40-something classic and mellow rocker.
My perception of Relient K was an alternative/punk band, and this album does show that edge, but this is overall just a high-quality pop/rock album. These guys are good. Not a bad song on the album. In fact, I'd give almost all of them a 10/10. It's nice to find a band that both my 12-year-old rocking son and I like. | | | | Hoopes, they've done it again Mar 30, 2007 |
I must admit, this CD came as a bit of a shock to me, but does not disappoint. I was a little sad that RK had dropped most of it's random, awkward appearance, and has moved on to a more serious look, but the changes they've made over the last seven years are amazing. Even though RK fans know they're a Christian band, I think it really comes through in this CD, with songs like "Forgiven" and "Death Bed." I believe that even non-religious people can listen to this CD and STILL think it's one of the best bands they've ever listened to.
If you're not sure about buying the album, just listen to some samples of the music. I swear you'll be blown away. Some songs I highly recommend are Give Until There's Nothing Left, Devastation and Reform, Faking My Own Suicide, and Bite My Tongue. | | | | AMAZING Mar 26, 2007 |
| Came in A single day and i didn't even have single day shipping.. This is an Very good seller | | | | A headbang-worthy album Mar 24, 2007 |
This is easily one of my favourite CDs in my collection. I hold a great amount of love for Relient K, and even though there's a song I actually might hate on this CD, that's a first. Am I the only person in the world who hates "Faking My Own Suicide?" I don't find it at all funny. In fact, if anyone pulled that on me, we'd still be holding a funeral because I'd kill him. It's just SO OVER THE TOP EMO. But that's what the "skip" button is for.
Other than that, I adore this CD. Relient K has always spoken to me right where I am in my life, and this CD was no different. Not that I expected any different- having downloaded the single and "Fallen Man" on iTunes back in November, I knew I was probably in for a whole load of awesome. And, in fact, it is. Like I said, there's only one song I don't like, and maybe that's just because I have an over the top emo friend, and it's so old that I find it more annoying than anything. But pretty much everything else has some sort of message that is awesome and I've been running all over campus singing them at the top of my lungs.
To those who complain about the more "mature" and "serious" nature of the album, I can only say that y'all should just deal, because that's what good bands do. They grow up. When Relient K started, they were still in high school, and you can't keep that worldview forever. If there's one thing I've learned going through college, it's that nothing stays the same. Hopefully, things change for the better. It would seem that Relient K has done just fine, so far as I can see- they've grown up, held on to their humour, and lead what seem to be fairly happy lives.
Any longtime RK fan will probably enjoy this. I know I did. | | | | Loved It!!! Mar 24, 2007 |
| I've always liked Relient K, but deep down I'm a Coldplay Guy. Well this album is a bit more realilistic. Deathbead has got to be the best epic I've heard in awhile. Bite My Tongue and Plead the Fifth are great too. | | | Write your own review about Five Score And Seven Years Ago
