Item Description...
America is unrivaled in our ability to solve tough problems and create bold, powerful solutions. That's exactly what we need to do with the energy crisis we now face. We CAN become energy independent, while lowering prices at the pump today and developing innovative and effective energy alternatives for the future. We CAN produce an overwhelming supply of oil and natural gas here at home, and break the stranglehold that foreign countries have on our energy supply, and our economy. And we CAN be responsible stewards of our environment, protecting the grand beauty and richness of our country without sacrificing our robust engines of growth, expansion, and entrepreneurship. As Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House and bestselling author, spells out in stunning simplicity, when it comes to developing domestic energy resources, we CAN do it all. Isn't it time we relied on American energy for America's security and prosperity? With your help, your citizen action, and Newt Gingrich's plan as laid out in Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less, we can solve this energy crisis—and slash gas prices, too. |

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | The solutions to many of our problems are right under our feet. Sep 17, 2009 |
| If only we could transplant Newt Gingrich's brain into a presidential candidate who is electable and has less baggage! As usual, Gingrich gets it right; he truly is an idea machine. Like him or not, he is one of the most brilliant conservative thinkers in the country today when it comes to forming policy. To think that we could put people back to work, have more price stability, and become less dependent on foreign oil, while causing minimal harm to the environment is frustrating because we're heading in exactly the opposite direction. This book lays out simple, common sense ideas that we could implement tomorrow to help solve a host of problems in this country. Definitely well worth the read, but I still like Gingrich's "Real Change" even more (would give it six stars if I could). | | | | A Call To Action Aug 22, 2009 |
Among the many crises facing America today, the energy crisis looms as one of the largest. The solution seems simple, yet the US leadership can't seem to take any decisive action that would lead us if not to outright energy independence, at least a greatly lessened dependence on foreign oil. Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less may seem like simplistic sloganeering, but it is in fact a comprehensive plan for putting the country on the road to energy independence. Comprehensive is the key word because nearly everyone should find something in it that pleases them. Author Newt Gingrich does not ignore the need to wean the economy from over-dependence on petroleum and anyone who thinks this book is all about oil didn't read it. Band-aid approaches never work and often worsen a problem through policy distortions. Gingrich argues for a policy that fosters development of alternative energy resources such as hydrogen, wind, and solar while maintaining that we should also be using oil resources that WE have here until those alternative resources become economically viable. Those who think a world with the billions of people it now contains can safely return to a pre-industrial way of life are dangerous and foolish dreamers. Rational people reading this book will recognize that we need to put aside partisan differences and start working together to solve the energy problem now, and this book gives ideas on how to do that. High energy costs affect everyone, not just members of one party. Let those who refuse to compromise walk while the rest of us find a reasonable way to overcome the problem. | | | | Poorest Gingrich book Jun 29, 2009 |
| This is not classic Newt where the subject would have been well researched and make for interesting reading. Instead it is clouded with political overtones of attacking the opposite side and prevents reaching an objective of solving environmental concerns and energy independence with a unified front. Shame on you, Newt for creating such a bomb. It's just tired rhetoric done hurriedly and soooo repetitive. Ho, Hum! | | | | All lies Apr 5, 2009 |
| This book is all lies and hogwash. Profit, corporate consumerism, ignorant self infatuated, rape the planet mentality. It is a waste of time to read it. I had to give it one a one star rating because the this site review page wouldn't accept 0. I give it a double zero. | | | | A must read for anyone who values the U.S. Dec 26, 2008 |
