Personally I think this is the best album the Newsboys have come out with in a long time. I like all of the songs on the album. I would have to say that "Wherever We Go", "Go", and "Your Love is Better Than Life" are my most favorite songs. If you've never heard someone with an Australian accent do a rap song, you're in for a treat with "Your Love is Better Than Life". It's great!
The best cd ever Feb 21, 2007
This is a great CD. I love the fact that Newsboys went back to their rock roots. My favorite songs are "I am Free and Something Beautiful". I STRONGLY recommend this CD.
The 'boys are getting older, and it shows. Feb 16, 2007
Just got this and listened to it back-to-back-to-back with their "Shine" hits compilation and "Thrive". Not that I'm expecting them to continue to kick the way they did years ago, but IMHO this CD is overproduced, poorly sequenced and in general pales in comparison with "Thrive". I know. The group membership has changed, the members themselves are obviously changing, and, frankly, their fan base isn't getting any younger. If "Go" reaches new listeners with The Message and serves to strengthen the faith of the group's existing fan base, that's great. It's just not what I was hoping for, and it definitely won't join "Shine" and "Thrive" in my "music to commute by" listening rotation.
Awsome CD!!! - Bonus Features Rule! Feb 13, 2007
Get this version of the CD just for the videos! If you like Paul's iTunes podcasts, you will love this DVD!!! Plus the music rules. All the songs are great.
Very Uplifting Feb 10, 2007
This was my first foray into the music of the Newsboys and I was very satisfied with the results. The music is very fun to listen to and is very uplifting. I find myself humming some of the tracks throughout the day ("O, it's gonna be alright...").
Track 1 is certainly a bit cheesy and some of the songs don't work as well as others ("Let it all come out"), but the party songs ("Something Beautiful", "The Mission", and the title track) totally make up for it.
In the end it's the message that matters, and the Newsboys deliver one of hope to the listener. Many artists are quick to write about the ugly and bad things in life and ignore the beautiful. Not so here. We are immersed in the love of God, and reminded that we live in "a revolution Jesus started" and it is our duty to proclaim that to the world.
