| I'm using this book as the backbone of my Geography homeschool curriculum for my six year old! The best thing about the book is the FANTASTIC book recommendations..The activites have not helped me very much (with the exception of the Pompeii volcano activity idea...fabulous) as they are mostly designed for a small group setting and I'm using it for one student, but for the book recommendations alone this book is well worth it!! Definately a fantastic addition to a classroom or co-op. My daughter has loved all the books recommended in this book. They are challending recommendations, yet still enjoyable. With more and more emphasis being placed on integrating the standards, this book is a godsend. It clearly and precisely integrates the language arts, social studies, science, art and other disciplines in a most interesting and attractive format. Easy to follow and with myriads recommendations for teaching, the book has something for all intemediate teachers. I especially like the way the authors incorporated the best of children's literature into the teaching of geography. Highly recommend it.
