| For a guy who graduated from high school in 1980, and trying to pass a GED exam, it can be pretty humbling. I bought this book not expecting much help, but it has been a BIG help. I re-took the GED test, and it all seemed so easy the second time around. I finished the 2 hour test in 1 hour & 25 minutes, feeling really confident and with a good feeling. I'll find out soon if I passed, so wish me luck! But again, the book is very helpful, especially with geometry and algebra. It goes in depth a bit much, but it doesn't hurt to know too much, anyway. The English (reading and grammar) was difficult for me to understand. I had to read it twice in a lot of the lessons. Thoroughly adequate, though. Is this book worth it? | I actually bought this book to help me prepare for the subject area exam for K-6 Teaching Certification and it has proved extremely helpful. This book is a comprehensive review of elementary and secondary education including language arts, social studies, sciences and mathematics. It has numerous study questions inbedded in the explanation of subject manner and helpful pre and posttests that can help you identify which areas need more focus than others. In addition, there are sample tests included in the end.
