Publishers Description Click Here for Sample Chapter Culture ClashBy Mark Gabriel Why don't the Muslim people throw out their dictators and demand human rights? Why is America feared and mistrusted in the Muslim world even when she tries to help? Why can't the Muslim world accept some responsibility for its problems? Every day the news confirms the conflict between the Muslim world and the American way of life. Dr. Mark Gabriel, former lecturer at Al-Azhar University, sheds light on this conflict, explaining the mysterious attitudes of the Muslim world and why they resist principles such as equality for women, freedom of speech, and other ideals that Americans see as secular, nonreligious, and good for all people. He explains at psychological and religious levels what causes suspicion, animosity, and aggression toward America and answers the question: What can America do right in the Muslim world today? About the AuthorDR. MARK A. GABRIEL was able to quote the entire Quran by the time he was twelve years old. Raised in Egypt--in the midst of a breeding ground of Islamic terrorists--he spent his formative years deep inside the confines of Muslim influence. He is the author of "Journey Into the Mind of an Islamic Terrorist, Islam and the Jews," and "Islam and Terrorism." |

| This is an excellent overview of the differances between Muslims and western culture. This book really helped me understand why "common sense" diplomacy doesn't work with them. If you can never question your religion, you are stuck in a time warp where nothing ever changes unless outside forces make it happen. | | | | Real eye-opener Oct 9, 2008 |
This book was given to me by a friend who said that it was a real eye-opener. He was correct. Islam's Jihad is a real and present danger for the whole world, not simply the west. I was unaware of how entrenched their culture is with their religion. As an American, we are tolerant of different cultures and religions. But this tolerance will be our downfall if we do not act against this Islam problem. For me, it begins with education. Just as it had opened my eyes to the true nature of the problem, so I am giving this book to family members and friends to alert them as well. This is no joke. Nazi Germany was a mere 70 years ago, but this could be 7 times worse than Germany with all the various countries that are Muslim. And the Germans were doing this for Hitler. The Jihad are doing their atrocities in the name of Allah, I believe a greater motivator than any man could be. Read this book! Then pass it on. This may save our children and their children from a dreadful world. May God grant us the courage to stand up and do the right things before it is literally too late. | | | | WOW Sep 28, 2008 |
| This is confusing for me. Some people I know who are moslim are so normal, yet they belong to this ugliness. I am sorry they are in danger as well as we. This man's story is truly amazing to me as he has so much courage. | | | | Islam Explained Apr 15, 2008 |
| "Culture Clash" was written by an Egyptian Muslim who, although being a graduate and teacher at Islam's premier imam-training school (al-Azhar University in Cairo) in the 1970s, and upon becoming disillusioned with Islam, converted to Christianity in 1993 C.E. From his thorough understanding of Islam, the author has written a truly heart-felt book in explaining how Islam has developed the thought-process of Muslims in opposing democracy, individual liberty and all other religions. As he appropriately titled his book, it is indeed a "Culture Clash" between Islam and Western civilization. He notes as much in his preface: Islam "is fighting Western culture because the culture of the West and the culture of Islam as it was practiced by Muhammad cannot coexist." The chapters in this book are: The Foundation of Islamic Culture (How Muhammad created Islamic culture; The past rules the present.); The Nature of Islamic Culture (Prayer and washing, fasting and pilgrimage, daily life, stereotypes about non-Muslims, the wall between Muslims and non-Muslims, personality trails that cripple Muslim society); Women in Islamic Culture (Muhammad's stereotypes about women, Islamic law about marriage, women's rights under Islam, loss of freedom for women); The Clash Between Islamic Culture and American Law (seven ways Islamic law clashes with western law, what Islam teaches about democracy, establishing democracy in Iraq and the middle east, separating religion and politics); and the Future of the Culture Clash (the war of ideas). For those who may be unfamiliar with Islam, the author reviews the religious foundations of Islam to help the reader understand the "why" as to how Islam so much conflicts with individual liberty. The author bolsters his contentions by providing specific citations from the Muslim's holy book: the Quran. For those who are already familiar with the author's other books, "Culture Clash" is a new expansion of his revelations about how Muhammad (PBUH) birthed Islamofascism. | | | | Culture Clash Feb 20, 2008 |
| An excellent education. This book explained the mysteries of Islam in the simplist terms. I now have a much better understanding of the US conflict with the "radical" Muslims, their history, and the Christian differences. | | | Write your own review about Culture Clash
