Through all the diction and wording that Manning carefully uses, I have read some of the most insightful and helpful Christian encouragement in any literary document. True, some parts of the book may seem a bit legalistic and can portray a sense of "holier-than-thou," but underneath these somewhat bold statements lies profound truth and inspirational realism.
It may have been also that I've been going through a really rough "dry season" in my spiritual life, but I found this book to be extremely uplifting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to be encouraged. | | |  | murrrr Jan 7, 2008 |
