This print is from a beautiful painting done by talented artist and illustrator, Brian Jekel. Born in Wisconsin in 1951 and raised in Minnesota, Jekel was an art enthusiast right from his childhood. From the Rocky Mountain School of Arts, he joined the Pensacola Christian College in 1981 to teach budding artists commercial and fine art.
He has created over 1200 illustrations of the Bible for his college's publishing company. He says, "the life of Christ has been the most humbling and sometimes burdensome experience. There are times when you can feel the weight of it all."
Jekel's beautiful artistry is accompanied by touching, inspirational words written by Roy Lessin. The Co- founder of Dayspring came to know Christ when he was nineteen. From then on, he has been the Lord's instrument in many ways - serving as Christian Education Director and Youth Minister and mission work. He also worked in a Christian bookstore.
He has written countless gift and devotional books. This passage that he wrote for the Road to the Cross is truly moving.....
