Publishers Description
Evangelism Special! Read one yourself, give one to a seeking friend. Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis who are recognized authorities in their own fields. Strobel challenges them with questions like-- How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence exist for Jesus outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event? Strobel's tough, point-blank questions make this remarkable book read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ? Along with The Case for Christ, this Evangelism Special includes a copy of Zondervan's NIV Study Bible, The Journey. It is 'The Study Bible for Spiritual Seekers'

This book is great for people who are searching for the truth.

The Case for Christ  Jan 15, 2007
This is a must read for anyone questioning their faith or questioning the authenticity of scripture. Also must read "A Case For Faith" following this book.

An excellent introduction to Christian Apologetics!  Sep 20, 2006
This book is an excellent introduction to Christian Apologetics. It presents some basic arguments in favor of Christianity in an easy to read and understand format. While I am sure he interviewed critics during his initial research that led to his conversion, he does not present them here because as the title says, his book presents the basic "Case for Christ". Strobel is not a theologian, and does not present himself as such. He does not delve deeply into philosophy or apologetics, but presents basic concepts and arguments for the layman. Highly recommended for those with a layman's interest in apologetics!

Great book, good CD  Jun 20, 2006
The Case for Christ is, as a book, a marvelous introduction to historical apologetics. It is well-written in a conversational style, and more importantly it covers a broad range of topics regarding the New Testament and the evidence that Jesus was and is the risen Son of God. (A favorite feature of the book, missing on the CDs, is the recommended reading for those who want to go deeper into the topic of that chapter.)

As for the CD version, the reader's voice is clear, and his attempts to give each character his own "voice" is appreciated (if occasionally a bit comical) in that it lets the listener know immediately who is speaking in the interview format of the book. What the CD set lacks is a "table of contents." If you decide you want to listen to the chapter on the archaeology of the NT, you will have to find it yourself. Other than this, the set is good.

Convincing logic for Christ  Jun 5, 2006
Strobel does a wonderful job in organizing the evidence for Christ in a well thought-out and logical manner. Each new chapter answers any questions remaining from the previous one. I was very impressed with the quality and quantity of information Strobel elicited from his interviews. This is a wonderful resource on its own and also gives great information about where to go for more indepth analysis.
