| I mean don't get me wrong, the scenes are steamy enough to fog up your glasses, but that's it. The plot was sorta out there and all over the place and let me with a lot of questions. Like where Demetri's partner really ran off to, whatever happened to the secretary that was going to get revenge. | Mrs. Terry crafts an INTRIGUING storyline with a few suspenseful twists and turns...the INSTANT chemistry between Gaby and Demetri is OFF-THE-CHARTS...and even though this story DEFINITELY has potential, I found it somewhat LACKING...there are a few MAJOR details that the author NEVER fully develops...such as there's no explanation as to the motivation behind Adam and his partner committing the crimes, for which they are being investigated...and there's also no follow-up information given on the where about of Demetri's former partner...which is the main reason he took the case in the first place...so the author kinda leaves you hanging...which makes the conclusion UNSATISFYING....there are also quite a few editing issues...that being said it's still a quick read for anyone looking for a HOT, SPICY, and HIGHLY erotic tale. | | | | 3.5 stars. STORY BRIEF:
Gaby grew up in foster care. She runs a community pharmacy providing medicine to people who can't afford it. The FBI believes that she and Adam, her boyfriend, are running a con with Medicaid and drugs. Demetri used to be an FBI agent but now owns a nightclub called The Sweet Spot. His nickname is Sweet. Gaby and Adam frequently go to The Sweet Spot. Demetri's former boss Nick asks a favor. He wants Demetri to get close to Gaby to get evidence against her and Adam. Demetri agrees because Nick offers to do him a favor in return.
Gaby comes home early from work and discovers Adam having sex with his secretary in her bed. In her anger and needing some revenge she goes to The Sweet Spot alone, hoping to connect with someone. Demetri is happy to comply and takes her to his home above the night club for the night. They have an amazing connection and a lot of sex. Adam wants to get back together with Gaby but she won't have him. She continues seeing Demetri.
REVIEWER'S OPINION (WITH VAGUE SPOILERS):
There is a lot of explicit sex, with rear door activity and whip lashing. The story was pretty good but a few parts could have been better developed. Lee has a small book that is introduced but not explained how it fits into the story. How Adam and his partner were making money from the con could have been better described as well as their history and relationship. I was not happy with Gaby doing something illegal, even though she had a sympathetic motive. She's the heroine but will have to pay a price. Other than that it was a pretty good story. The author's writing style kept me interested.
