Item Description... Nearly everyone is deceived at one time or another. "Fakes, Frauds & Other Malarkey" is a good-natured yet passionate analysis of deception--from its innocent roots in imaginative play to the poison fruit of the cruelest scams. It offers hilarious and heartbreaking glimpses into the schemes of hoaxers in the fields of art, literature, science, medicine, exploration, education, finance and religion. This book offers special insights into the nature of spiritual fraud in history and in modern America. Even while Jesus told his followers to be as harmless as doves, he also reminded them to be as wise as serpents. Neither is easy. |

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | A Review by someone who has read the book! Feb 7, 2008 |
| This book is a good book to read to get a sense about how we are fooled. Lindskoog brings from the simpliest way are fooled vis a vis hide and seek we learned as a child to some of the most vitriolic falshood perpetrated for the sake of self agrandizment. I recommend this site remove the 2 star review as they give no sense of the content of the book so one can make an inteligent choice. It is obvious the prejudice of the other reviews. Get this book for a fun read! | | | | Mirror View Feb 19, 2005 |
| How can a person compare malarkey and frauds by comparison to the story of Adam and Eve? Taken literally this is one of the greatest fairy tales of all times. Very unobjective thinking. | | | | Selective Skepticism? Oct 21, 2004 |
| I never fail to be fascinated by the ease with which people of traditional religious faiths manifest Hypocracy. Ms. Lindskoog is obviously such a person. Her book on frauds and "malarkey" might have been believable if she wasn't Judeo-Christocentric and previously employed by a Seminary. You can't attack "fraud and malarkey," when you yourself are a believer in things which cannot be proven by Science. If you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw stones. | | | Write your own review about Fakes, Frauds & Other Malarkey
