Item Description... Build the Perfect Housing to Fit Your Flock
Bring your chickens home to roost in comfort and style! Whether you're keeping one hen in a small backyard or 1,000 birds in a large free-range pasture, this delightful collection of hen hideaways will spark your imagination and inspire you to begin building.
Author and farmer Judy Pangman combed the country to select these 45 coops for housing both laying hens and meat birds (chickens or turkeys). The coops range from fashionable backyard structures featured in the annual Seattle Tilth City Chickens Tour and the Mad City Chickens Tour in Madison, Wisconsin, to the large-scale, moveable shelters Joel Salatin has fashioned for Polyface Farm in Virginia.
You'll also find ideas for converting trailer frames, greenhouses, and backyard sheds; low-budget alternatives for working with found and recycled materials; and simple ways to make waterers, feeders, and nestboxes. A gallery of color photographs provides other creative ideas to get you going. With basic building skills, a little elbow grease, and this book of conceptual plans and how-to drawings, you've got all you need to shelter your flock. |

 | Truly disappointing! Dec 1, 2008 |
| This book is a truly disappointing source for good poultry housing plans. Though some of the housing may be interesting from an artistic standpoint, many of the designs are not practical when it comes to sanitation, vermin control, and sensible layout. It would appear as if the author capitalized on the entertainment aspect of the designs rather than on the usefulness of them. The details for the inside of the structures were lacking making it seem as if the book is basically a collection of photographs. | | | | very good Oct 15, 2008 |
| The product was exactly what I asked for and it was a great price. I will definatly shop with this site again. | | | | I bit off the Norm! Sep 6, 2008 |
| While this book does have a variety of coop designs, they are mostly more whimsical and labor intensive then I needed. For a small backyard coup that is a landscape or art piece they work fine, but not very practical for most chicken coops that have flocks of any size. | | | | A Ripoff Aug 17, 2008 |
| This book is supposed to have plans on building a chicken coop. All of the drawings are incomplete and have no detail at all. We sent the book back. | | | | Chicken Coops May 21, 2008 |
| This book has all kinds of chicken coops, whether you are on a large farm or just a small lot. It shows what you need and how to build them. This is an excellent book to get started at raising chickens. | | | Write your own review about Chicken Coops: 45 Building Plans for Housing Your Flock
