Item Description... Overview SUBTITLE: How To Release The Hidden Power Of God In Your Life How to release the hidden power of God in your life. God desires for us to live in victory as a lifestyle. Bill shares the tools God has placed in his spiritual "arsenal" which not only strengthen, but equip every Christian to achieve great victory, releasing and establishing God's dominion on earth. In order to strengthen ourselves in the Lord, Johnson says, we must stop waiting for outside circumstances to line up with our dreams. Instead "we must give thanks, rejoice and pray as He prays, meditate on His promises and testimonies, and associate with people of faith." Doing this continually and intentionally will effectively strengthen the believer in the Lord.
Publishers Description It's about the absolute need to know how to minister to yourself. There is a "selfless" emphasis in the Body of Christ that actually works against the gospel ndash; people believe that anything to do with self is sin. Not so. If I don't take care of my walk wi |

 | Good overall idea, but scripturally unsound Apr 30, 2010 |
Bill Johnson has a great idea but his habit of attempting to form doctrine from the Psalms, some of which are quoted out of context, leads to a few scriptural inaccuracies. A quick example would be his use of Psalm 119:99 which in the NASB states, "I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation." Bill Johnson states plainly that King David's strength is coming from reading testimonies of God's previous miracles. The verse however uses the exact same word, in english and greek, that's used in Exodus 31:18. "When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God." Obviously testimony has a different meaning in these passages than a written account of God's great deeds. Because much of the following chapters hinge on that one pivotal scripture, much of the book loses its credibility.
The overall theme of this book is great, however I don't believe that any doctrine which is not supported by scripture, no matter how noble in its intention, should be supported by the body of Christ. | | | | great resource when needing encouragement during difficult times Feb 12, 2010 |
| As always Pastor Bill's wisdom, revelations from the Lord and His humble loving way of delivering a message that anyone from a new Christian to a mature Believer can ponder and apply to their own lives. His passion to know God intimately is inspiring. | | | | God's Love and Wisdom and Power Feb 8, 2010 |
