Product Description Daniel prophesied the rise of global government in your future
A number of prophets had a glimpse of the future, but God gave only one prophet a precise calendar of the end-times events that will affect the current generation.
Writing more than 2,500 years ago, Daniel described a series of cataclysmic events and the signs that will precede the end times. According to prophecy expert Grant R. Jeffrey, many of the signs that Daniel pointed to are visible in our world today.
Daniel's vision reveals startling details about the identity of the coming Antichrist, his political career, his death, and his Satanic resurrection. After completing an exhaustive study of Daniel's prophecies, Dr. Jeffrey presents a detailed description of the Antichrist's rise as world dictator, the mark of the beast, and the political maneuvering that will set the stage for global government. In light of the Hebrew calendar and the cycle of Jewish festivals, Dr. Jeffrey uncovered precise dates for major apocalyptic events, including a timeline for the Antichrist's rise to power, the major events of the Tribulation, and the timing of the Battle of Armageddon.
God allowed Daniel to see the world we will soon live in as we approach the time for the return of the Messiah. Now learn exactly what Daniel knew.

 | Excellent Book Oct 12, 2009 |
I highly recommend this book. It gives great historical accuracy as well as information about what is happening now in preparation for the end times. It also tells you how the believer is to live before the Lord's return. Daniel in the Old Testament was a great example of how to live in spite of the circumstances around him.
There are a few minor details I disagree with such as the Anti-Christ being referred to as the "King of Babylon" and the Assyrian. I also disagree that Babylon will be rebuilt; I believe it's a reference to Rome. They're one of those things where you have to read this book and decide for yourself. Aside from those minor details, I heartily recommend this book. | | | | Countdown to the Apocalypse Aug 31, 2009 |
| An excellant book on prophecy. He is a very smart man on the Bible. I have most of his books and I have enjoyed them all. | | | | great read Aug 1, 2009 |
| A good summary of the book of Daniel and prophesy of the coming of Jesus. A must read if you are into reading about prophesy and the end times. | | | | Countdown to the Apocalypse Jun 11, 2009 |
Save your money! All that Grant Jeffrey does in this book is rehash what has been said many times, by many others. He opens the book by telling us that he has one of the largest collections of books (over 300) that deal with prophecy. You wouldn't know it from reading his book. In my opinion his book is incoherent, poorly organized and offers nothing new of a scholarly nature. Far too many pages are wasted as filler that quote Bible passages chapter and verse. Yet the verses cited really don't substantiate the points he's trying to make. It's just more of the pop End Times writings that titillate, but really don't educate the student of Biblical End Times events. Jeffrey's book offers no more (actually less) than The Late Great Planet Earth, by Hal Lindsay, which was written over 40 years ago. Jeffrey does not offer one new insight to the End Times. I don't like to sound so harsh towards a Christian brother, but he is the one selling this book, not me.
If you want to read a compelling, revolutionary application of prophetic interpretation, then you must read "God's War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible" by Walid Shoebat. This book has something meaningful to say about End Times prophecy that will knock your socks off and open yours eyes to the Second Coming. I promise you it will make perfect sense. Put all of the conventional books on the End Times on the back burner for a while and forget all of the machinations about the European Union, Revived Roman Empire, a "western" AntiChrist, and Russian invasion of Israel. Read what Walid Shoebat has to say about what empire will be revived, and from where the Anti-Christ must come. You'll be amazed because the "scales" will have fallen from your eyes.
Daniel 12:4, says, "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end time." At last, I think the words are being revealed. | | | | An Interesting Primer on Daniel's Visions Jun 5, 2009 |
This book's title and cover look sensationalist but the actual content is sober and well-researched. The case made is that the 70 weeks prophecy in Daniel 9 accurately predicted the day of Jesus Messiahship being unveiled (Pal Sunday) from the date of the decree of the Persian King to re-build the walls of Jerusalem.
Sadly, the book does not offer a detailed calculation but Jeffrey does refer to the standard work on this theory "The Coming Prince" by Sir Robert Anderson. This referral alone is worth the book and Countdown serves as a popular primer for introducing us to deeper studies.
Occasionally the tone is polemic and not much time is given to alternative views or interpretations of key passages (e.g. Dan 9:27) where the sense is ambiguous or Dan 9:26 where the meaning (of the "flood") is incompatible with what we know about Jerusalem's last great destruction (there was no flood).
An entertaining and useful work, if somewhat unoriginal. | | | Write your own review about Countdown To The Apocalypse
