| This short, well put together story is for children of all ages. It's very different from Jan Karon's "Tale of an Honest Bunny" or "The Trellis Seed." I read this to my six year old son. When we finished, he actually sighed and said, "What a nice story." I then shared it with my mother who called me crying saying it was beautiful. | I was, admittedly, already a fan of Jan Karon when I picked up Miss Fannie's Hat for my six year old daughter. Jan Karon amazed me once again with her ability to charm her readers with vivid descriptions, rich imagery, and humor. She used just enough references to the main character's faith to get her message across without being pushy about it. She once again showed how a character with grounded, honest values can make it work in her life. A great way to open a discussion of God to your young children, or reinforce your family values with an older one.
