Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | At Ease Apr 12, 2009 |
There is a major theme that runs through everyones personal story . No matter what the aspect there is a continual nervous feeling,no matter how brave the individual. This collection is compiled in in such a positive way that all the persons involved with their cancer and circumstances are similar. My cancer too. Reading it at first was difficult but after the first few stories a sense of ease set in and they became meaningful. As a person who generally avoids such books I did not put this one down. My thanks to my friend who turned me on to it. Jeffrey Toplin | | | | A lens called cancer Mar 20, 2009 |
Even if you don't have cancer, you know someone who does. How can you understand them? Help them? Be the friend they need? You can start by reading this book and understanding what life looks like when viewed through the lens called cancer.
And lest you think that the book is full of morose and morbid stories, please know that this book will make you laugh and smile as much as it will make you cry; cancer seems to brings out an extraordinary range of emotions.
Understand this disease and understand better the people you love who face this disease. Read the The Cancer Book. | | | | It Takes A Courageous Village Mar 17, 2009 |
I wish I was courageous as the people in this book. I am not. It was hard to read. But it takes more courage to write about it as these folks do. And much more than that, is just to face it straight up. All the while not knowing if the outcome would be in one's favor. That can make for an adventurous tale. And unlike a patient, a reader is rewarded for facing it. Because at the end we will find uplight, or tears. Any book that makes you laugh and cry is wondrous indeed. But it is the different depths of love that are revealed in this one. Thank you for this worthy book. As the youth say, love ya! | | | | Prepare to be inspired Mar 4, 2009 |
| This is a fantastic collection of inspirational stories. They are not stories as in tales as they are absolutely 100% REAL. Real people from caregivers, parents, sisters, and husbands to survivors fighting the disease, this book will provide inspiration. This book is titled the Cancer Book, but I really think it goes beyond that. We all have difficult times in our life when we wonder what to do or get completely frustrated. Read this book and it will help put perspective on life. Life is short so we all need to make the most of it as this book will prove. | | | | DEEPLY MOVING AND ORIGINAL Feb 20, 2009 |
| This beautiful collection of first-hand experiences covers so many aspects of the devastating and life-changing Cancer journey, that I feel not only moved but educated by having read them. I've been blessed (so far) with not contracting this terrible disease, but have many friends and acquaintances who have battled and won...and battled and lost. I feel closer to them every time I read one of these fantastically original and very personal stories. | | | Write your own review about Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cancer Book: 101 Stories of Courage, Support & Love
