| This book may be what you were looking for, but it's not as good as "True Morality", where Lt. Joe Bates turns his machine gun on a crowd of American Marines who were preparing to attack a girls' school, after having beaten several of the teachers to death. Lt. Bates reasoned that if raping teenage girls was immoral in southern Alabama, it was also immoral in southern Iraq. Unfortunately, he wins no medals for this. | | | | YUK! Feb 21, 2006 |
| By far the worst Dee Henderson book I have read. I have always enjoyed her books - but this one just puts me to sleep! | | | | A Memorable Story Jul 31, 2005 |
I usually like romance set in a military setting, because only during the toughest times can we find out how strong the bond is. Gracie and Bruce are really beautiful people, who have such a strong devotion to each other and the people around them. Their careers bring them to dangerous places (not just physically) and through very hard times, and yet their friendship and love survive smoothly. One can only hope that real life could have such strong bonds. Anyone who likes romance woven with elements of action and danger will enjoy this book. Dee writes with great, vivid details. Thanks for a great read!
Shirley Cheng Author of The Revelation of a Star's Endless Shine: A Young Woman's Autobiography of a 20-Year Tale of Trials & Tribulations | | | | Overall good read... Jul 13, 2005 |
It's become so hard to rate Dee Henderson's books since I've come to expect so much from her. She's an incredibly good author who always shows that she's done her research well. With my dad being an airplane mechanic for Lockheed-Martin, who manufacturers USA's defense aircrafts, I know a bit about the planes and procedures she so explicably describes throughout the book, since one of the main characters (Gracie) is a pilot. I must say that Henderson is very good at being knowledgeable about not only her characters, but their lives and careers as well. Great job in that aspect. I did, however, think that the story line was a little slow. Correspondance from Gracie to Bruce, the other main character, was very often through letters, so it just didn't seem as enticing a read to me. I will admit that I could be biased, since I knew so much about the aircraft procedures, that information seemed redundant to me, but the overall plot didn't have the punch I expected from Henderson. If you're interested in learning about Gracie's naval career, it will make a good read, but if you're not, you won't be missing anything if you skip this book... | | | | Not an impressive book Jul 8, 2005 |
| I wasn't a huge fan of this book. I've heard great things about Dee Henderson, however I wasn't overly impressed with the writing. Although it's a sweet story, the love story and plot are very predictable and even cheesy at times. I had a difficult time relating to the characters and really getting into the story. One thing I did appreciate was the book's excellent message. | | | Write your own review about True Valor (Uncommon Heroes V2)
