Additional Notes:
The original edition of this Bible was printed in the USA. In 2006 manufacturing was switched to China. The dimensions of the new version are 3/4" narrower on the width, leaving less space for notes. Also, the leather cover is no longer bonded to the full width of the spine.
For customers wanting a Bible that is closer to the original edition, please review NASB Ultrathin Large Print Reference-Black Calfskin. The suggested alternate is a two column Bible, however as of November 2010 its manufacturing process is still in the USA and it has the same Binding format that made the original so popular. For further information, please feel free to call our customer service center.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | A major disappointment Nov 19, 2008 |
| I have spent several months trying to find the 2002 American printing to no avail. I am returning this one, as I have returned others from various sources. Foundation Publications really messed up when they outsourced printing of this wonderful bible to China in 2006. Even though you may do your due diligence and call the supplier prior to ordering, the supplier will always tell you it is a 2002 printing, because they did not change the ISBN when they started printing in China. I would not pay $20 for the Chinese version. It truly is junk. | | | | Be Careful and get the right one or you'll be sorry Jul 26, 2008 |
The reviews on this Bible were great for the first edition (2002). All subsequent printings (2006) were done in China and were inferior. I scoured the world looking for the 2002 printing and with great difficulty found one. But they are in Blue Calfskin only. A minor inconvenience for a superb Bible. They had 4 left at time of writing where I found them. I'm sure there are more out there for the diligent seeker.
This is a superb Bible in the 2002 print. The finest study Bible I have ever owned. I usually wear out a regular leather Bible every year or 2. The cover will come apart, binding begins to fail, pages come out, ect..
This is the nicest bible I have ever had. Fine super soft calfskin cover, Smythsewn binding, French paper, large 11 point print, wide margins for personal notes, excellent concordance and thorough references all in the most accurate literal tranlation NASB.
Also comes with a lifetime warranty. If you can find one printed in 2002 get it immediately!
Ways to tell if it is a 2002 print: 1. Raised spirals on the binding, 2. and comes with a black velvet slipcover.
You will probably have better luck finding a 2002 print in blue leather rather than black, but it is such a dark blue you can't really tell it is not black.
Don't get the 2006 you will be sorry. Most descriptions will state published 2002. Be careful. This doesn't mean it was printed in 2002. Probably printed in 2006. Ask the above 2 questions from the seller (raised spirals on binding and black velvet slipcover). It is the only way I know you can be sure. The later printings from China had neither. Many blessings and Happy hunting!
| | | | Limp and Supple Calfskin Cover May 22, 2008 |
Pros: I have been very happy with this Bible overall. As far page format, I really enjoy the single column, which allows for a much more natural read. I also appreciate the side margins which provide ample space to write my notes.
The biggest pro I believe is the calfskin cover. It is the most limp, softest and most supple bible cover I have ever felt. My wife likes the feel of it even better than her Cambridge Goatskin Bible. I believe the Lockman Foundation Publishers used the custom bible bindery "Abba Bibles," which is famous for their calfskin covers.
Cons: The only cons, for me personally is the size. I wish this bible was a little bit smaller so I could put it in briefcase or backpack.
I bought two of these bibles, one for myself and one for my wife. She did not like the size, so I have it listed here on this site for $59.99. She never even opened the bible so it is in great condition.
| | | | What a shame May 7, 2008 |
| This Bible is made in China and it shows. Don't buy it, get the In Touch Min NASB as it's still made in the USA. I am so disappointed with this bible; the page layout is the best of any bible. However, the binding quality of materials and workmanship is the worst I have ever seen, it's worse than any $20 bible. | | | | Disappointed Jul 22, 2007 |
| I'm sorry to say that I had to return this item as the binding was back to front. So much for quality control. | | | Write your own review about NASB Side Column Reference-Black Calfskin
