Item Description...
Product Description Americans have come to tolerate, embrace and even champion many things that would have horrified their parents' generation---from easy divorce and unrestricted abortion-on-demand to extreme body piercing and teaching homosexuality to grade-schoolers. Does that mean today's Americans are inherently more morally confused and depraved than previous generations? Of course not, says veteran journalist David Kupelian. But they have fallen victim to some of the most stunningly brilliant and compelling marketing campaigns in modern history. The Marketing of Evil reveals how much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped and sold to them as though it had great value. Highly skilled marketers, playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance, have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which all previous generations since America's founding regarded as grossly self-destructive---in a word, evil. In this groundbreaking and meticulously researched book, Kupelian peels back the veil of marketing-induced deception to reveal exactly when, where, how, and especially why Americans bought into the lies that now threaten the future of the country. For example, few of us realize that the widely revered father of the "sexual revolution" has been irrefutably exposed as a full-fledged sexual psychopath who encouraged pedophilia. Or that giant corporations voraciously competing for America's $150 billion teen market routinely infiltrate young people's social groups to find out how better to lead children into ever more debauched forms of "authentic self-expression." Likewise, most of us mistakenly believe the "abortion rights" and "gay rights" movements were spontaneous, grassroots uprisings of neglected or persecuted minorities wanting to breathe free. Few people realize America was actually "sold" on abortion thanks to an audacious public relations campaign that relied on fantastic lies and fabrications. Or that the "gay rights" movement---which transformed America's former view of homosexuals as self-destructive human beings into their current status as victims and cultural heroes---faithfully followed an in-depth, phased plan laid out by professional Harvard-trained marketers. No quarter is given in this riveting, insightful exploration of how lies, both subtle and outrageous, are packaged as truth. From the federal government to the public school system to the news media to the hidden creators of "youth culture," nothing is exempt from the thousand-watt spotlight of Kupelian's journalistic inquiry. In the end, The Marketing of Evil is an up-close, modern-day look at what is traditionally known as "tempation"---the art and science of making evil look good.

 | A must read...especially for college students. Dec 16, 2008 |
| A must read book. If you are a student in a liberal college or just a born again Christian trying to understand what is happening in America today and why, then you must read this book. It reveals plans laid out by liberal groups that are hell bent on destroying America and our way of life. I couldn't put it down when I started reading it. | | | | Honest and to the point Dec 15, 2008 |
If you're tired of the "new morality" being pushed on us or you know, as I do, that it's really just the same old immorality, this is a great read. The tagline puts it best:
'"The Marketing of Evil" reveals how much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped and sold to them as though it had great value. Highly skilled marketers, playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance, have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which all previous generations since America's founding regarded as grossly self-destructive - in a word, evil.' | | | | Murderers into Martyrs--A CNN and PBS Specialty Dec 5, 2008 |
Most people consider me very intelligent; AND, I am very aware of the extreme anti-American, anti-Christian and anti-Israeli bias of CNN and PBS.
Nevertheless, I was fooled---BIGTIME---a few years ago when CNN stringers were interviewing a group of moaning, Muslim looking women who were telling the reporters how Serbian troops had come into their small town, taken fighting age males away and executed them.
Loathsome Orthodox Serbians? Right?
While this program was going on, I was playing chess with a normally mild mannered Serb at our local Barnes and Noble bookstore. Normally mild mannered Serb was very upset and yelling at the TV that CNN was lying. "The upset women are Orthodox Serbs! It was Muslim monsters who took the town's males away to be slaughtered!"
I told the Serb I couldn't tell who was telling the truth because I was not an expert of their culture.
"You don't have to be expert. Just look at the women!" the upset Serb said.
I looked at the women, dressed in long flowing black robes with their heads covered with black scarfs with only their faces showing. "The women look Muslim to me," I say.
The Serb gets even more upset: "Look at the women! Just look! The women are wearing crosses around their necks! Muslims don't wear crosses!"
Sure enough, I'd been focusing so much on the black garb that I'd overlooked the fact that most of the women were wearing small crosses and a few were wearing Big Crosses around their necks!
The Serb was right! CNN was turning the Muslim monsters from cold blooded murderers into martyrs right in front of me and few million other people and people at the Muslim Brotherhood and CNN were laughing that their evil deeds were not just deflected; but, turned on the victims.
The US military was killing Serbian victims and protecting Muslim monsters.
For the next 15 minutes the Serb then gave me a primer on media manipulation. Whew!
Our US foreign policy throughout the world is usually built on just such lies and manipulations.

There are all kinds of books out there that point out how bad our depraved culture is, so I have put off reading this book for some time. Most of these books print a few outrageously wrong occurrences and then spend 100 pages complaining. You only need read the newspaper to see more outrages than you can comprehend in our country that was once so noble and free.
But this book goes deep to the root of many of the problems and I was blown away by the intelligence of this author and his synthesis.Ten chapters, "Selling "gay rights"", "myth of church-state separation", "sex and rebellion", "multicultural madness", "family meltdown", "Fraudulent Science" (Pervert Kinsey and his lies), Schools, Media, Abortion, and Christianity. All are excellent.
When you read a sentence like this, "Their [perverts] campaign will not end until Christians and other traditionalists opposing homosexuality are shut up, discredited, and utterly silenced" written in 2005 and then read the paper and see churches and temples vandalized, innocent people attacked by howling mobs of queers, daily terrorist threats being delivered in the mail complete with white powder, and the witch hunts to remove anyone who thinks different from their livelihoods, you have to be amazed at the prescient writing of Kupelian.
The other chapters are equally informative. The depravity of our divorce rate, abortion rate, our schools and yes even our churches are pointed out. I've waited a long time for a conservative to take on the Christian churches who use the very tools and manipulations of the evil side to try and out-entertain the media.
You need to read this book if you want any depth of understanding of the tactics that are tearing down the fabric of our civilization. 5 Stars and Thank You and God Bless Mr. Kupelian. | | | | The Marketing of Evil Sep 16, 2008 |
The book was well documented and honest. The author did a fine job of presenting the facts without twisting them. I would recommend that every American read this book. It is an eye opener and although some of the informatiion in it caused me great sadness, I know that the facts were accurate.
