How do you trust God when your world is unraveling? How do you deal with unanswered prayer that leaves you brokenhearted?

Eyes that See: Judson's Story of Hope in Suffering follows two-year-old Judson Levasheff--a bright, articulate, and healthy young boy whose body unexpectedly began to rapidly deteriorate in the spring of 2007. Enter the story as it actually unfolded--through a collection of journal entries and letters to family and friends--as Christina Levasheff takes you on a heart-wrenching yet inspiring account of her family's journey of faith as her first-born son, Judson, is afflicted with a heinous disease. Her honesty as she cries out to God, surrendering in heartache and trusting in brokenness, is powerful and compelling. This gripping book, filled with laughter, tears, and hope, will challenge all readers to view their own life from a new perspective.

Inspiring  Jun 2, 2010
This mother shares with you the terrifying months during which she first notices her bright, imaginative, healthy and loving son show signs of illness, through his terrible diagnosis and cruel death in less than 6 months. Her personal journal entries and letters carry you along the daily struggles of trusting and begging God for healing and questioning why?? You are included in her anguish over watching her only son die. This is a sad story but it is inspiring that even though God does not heal Judson on earth his parents still love the Lord and seek his guidance and comfort. Especially after such a wrenching loss their faith is helping them get through life until they meet their son again. It is an amazing testimony of faith. It also inspired me to appreciate my loved ones more and enjoy my time with them.

Compelling story  May 14, 2010
A compelling & heartwrenching journey of a young family who walks an unimaginable road with their priceless son. This story will challenge your faith and your level of gratitude in day to day living.

A True Love Story  Apr 23, 2010
I am a sucker for a good love story; while this book is nothing like my typical light hearted romance it offers so much more. It is a story of a mother and father's love for their son. A story that will challenge and change the way you view your relationship with your children and with God. Keep a box of tissue close by as you journey with the Levasheffs' on their heart wrenching journey that will leave you forever changed.

Eyes that See: Judson's Story of Hope in Suffering  Apr 18, 2010
This incredible little book tells a very LARGE story...a story of a faith that is fragile and profound simultaneously. Judson, his family, their extended family and now their global family have a story to tell and it all begins with a little bright-eyed boy who will grab a hold of your heart and not let go.

Christina allows us into a world that grapples with "what do you do when the unthinkable, unimaginable and unbearable enter into your family's life." She gives insight through her daily diary entries and, when it appears its just too much to express, her wonderful husband Drake steps in with some further insight, wisdom and unmeasurable faith.

This story is very real, and Judson's journey through immense pain and suffering is described clearly. But you never have the sense that any words are presented in this book for dramatic effect or to manipulate your emotions. They are there to tell Judson's story and to encourage anyone who may be encountering grief and questioning God in and through that experience.

I highly recommend this book. I have purchased several and given them as gifts. It has opened the door to several "why me God?" conversations and my hope is that others who read this will at least come to an inner peace about devastating trials and circumstances we encounter in this life. Thank you to Christina and Drake for chronicling Judson's story and allowing all of us to briefly glimpse the light and life of your little man.

This story is a blessing!  Apr 15, 2010
Sometimes we are afraid to draw too near to another person's suffering because it is painful and awkward. It's depressing and frightening and causes us to wonder about our own mortality and that of our loved ones. We don't know what to say, how to help, and so we hold back.

You might think that "Eyes that See" would be too emotionally difficult to read. Written eloquently, but in the raw emotions of each moment, by the parents of a beautiful young boy dying from a vicious and debilitating disease.

But in reading Judson's story, we learn (as his parents did) that by engaging the pain there is much to be gained. Judson's disease, even as it destroyed his body, revealed more and more insights into his relationship with the Savior he loved. The tragic circumstances that took his life became a foundation for displaying the character of God.

As we engage Jud's story, we are forced to contemplate the same things his parents did as they lived through it. How should we approach the all-powerful God when we are facing the impossible? Does He really hear our prayers? How does He speak to us? How can we truly trust Him when life is disintegrating? How can we trust Him when our hearts and lives are shattered?

To immerse yourself in this book is to see hope and life and gratitude and trust in the midst of heartbreak. Judson's smile and sweet spirit and most of all, his ability to see God in the darkest situation, will leave a lasting impact on your heart.

Judson's story is full of lessons that cannot be learned outside of suffering. His abiding trust in God and that of his parents makes this book profoundly moving. Read it... and prepare to be deeply challenged and encouraged.
