The bible is written in the New King James translation. This actually makes it more interesting given that it is different than my normal study bible. The life lessons and highlighted verses with reflections from Dr. Stanley also make the daily reading interesting. The daily study has been a joy. I am a bit biased because I have been listening to Dr. Stanley for years and I respect his witness and sincerity.

Dr. Stanley is an amazing teacher as well as an inspiration. All of his skills and knowledge of the Lord and the Bible are on display here. The book is broken into 365 entries for a convenient study program. Each day features an Old Testament reading, selections from Proverbs and Psalms, and a New Testament reading. Each day's reading is enriched with historical notes and Dr. Stanley's commentaries. Daily readings average about 15 to 20 minutes and allow the reader to complete the Bible in one year. This is my second copy as I wore the first one out reading it and dragging it all over the world with me, plus I've given more of them away to new believers than I can remember. This is a "must buy" in my opinion.

I use this at night as my devotional reading. Since I started I have been consumed with this thirst of knowledge from the almighty. The author highlights the Bible's promises and has scripture from the readings as a life lesson. My world has been brightened at a very high level because not only is it the Word of God, the author takes you deeper into the meaning of varies scriptures that i may have skimmed over in my reading in a regular bible. Must have for new beginners in the walk of Christ.

If you have had trouble in the past reading the bible, then this book is for you. You read passages from the Old Testament, Pslams, Proverbs and the New Testament on a daily basis. It is all written in bible order, but so much easier to read this way. Plus Dr. Stanley's life lessons, answers to life' questions and life principles throughout really makes you stop, think and develop an initimate relationship with God. I am so glad after reading all the great reviews, that I decided to purchase Dr. Stanley's Life Principles Daily Bible.
