 | A must have book for every christian Oct 7, 2009 |
Pastor Tom Brown knows exactly what he is talking about. He is the only one who completely understood what I went thru. Demon possesion
Every Christian should be required to read his section on warfare of the mind. Absolute classic. His section on spirital warefare tells us what we are up against and how to deal with it.
I bought this book because I wanted to know how to cast out Demons but it is so much more. I give this book my highest recommendation. | | | | Well Done Jun 23, 2009 |
| The book was excellent! Very informative and well explained. It was an easy read of a very complex subject. | | | | A Read It & Do It Book that will help you live victoriously! Feb 18, 2009 |
Devil, Demons, and Spiritual Warfare This book is insightful, enlightening, easy to read and stimulates application of the biblical truths it contains. This book challenges us to be rightfully, scripturally equipped to understand, recognize and deal with the darkness trying to overtake our own lives and the lives of others. I purchased extra copies to share with family and friends who are studying to show themselves approved of God; correctly handling the word of God (2 Timothy 2:15). I encourage every one who has a heart's desire to stand firm in all the will of God; mature and fully assured (Colossians 4:12) and who is ready to leave elementary teaching and go on into maturity (Hebrews 6:1-4)to get a copy of this book; read it; study it, live it and encourage others to do the same. When you do, it will impact your life and theirs in a wonderful, meaningful, powerful way. | | | | The best book on the spiritual market! Feb 5, 2009 |
As I was telling Tom; I am only a quarter of the way through this amazing book and I must say I have never seen a deeper insight of the teaching on: the devil, demons and spiritual warfare, in my 8 years of study. This book is a must read! Please do not pass this great oppertunity of spiritual gain that only comes very seldom in life. Again, if you have not gotten this book, than please do now!!!
Everlastingly in the Kingdom,
Apostle Justin Thomley
'Battle of Faith Ministries' www.battleoffaith.org | | | | Much More Than (Just) a Book on Spiritual Warfare... Jan 14, 2009 |
This is much more than just a book on spiritual warfare. It contained so many revelations that went beyond the title of the book. As I was reading it I was convicted in so many areas of my life and thinking. It made me realise that many problems I once thought were caused by demons are actually to do with fleshly desires. Deep down I had secretly hoped that certain problems could just be cast out without any effort (of denying the flesh). Brown suggests that many individuals who suspect they have demons might in reality just lack self-control.
The book is divided into 3 sections, with Part I on the devil, Part II on demons & deliverance and Part III on spiritual warfare. Part III is particularly strong as it deals with the battleground of our mind where many of our problems lie. When we know how to fight the battle in our mind we take away satan's ground.
Brown has a very balanced approach on demon-possession. He doesn't blame every problem on demons. On the contrary - he talks more about our problems not being demonic. He doesn't see the need for 'deliverance specialists' but rather specialists of the whole Word of God (who practise deliverance as needed). Many people that these 'demon specialists' help don't retain their deliverance because of the lack of the Word.
On the otherhand he does believe in demon possession and physical manifestations of them too. Though when Brown casts out demons, he never forces an individual to vomit or make noises (as other deliverance ministers are known to do - who hand out sick bags), but simply commands them to be free in Jesus' name. If they do happen to vomit or make a noise he isn't suprised though, because this is line with biblical examples. Brown stresses the importance of sticking to the biblical way of casting out demons - not bringing in extra-biblical practises. Holy water, crucifixes, candles or prayer beads are never used in the bible to cast out demons.
Brown introduces his theory of 2 groups of people, the 'hyperdeliverance' and 'nondeliverance' groups. Among other things hyperdeliverance individuals see every problem as demonic, whereas nondeliverance individuals don't really believe in demons at all. A balance must be drawn between the two.
One thing I do not 100% agree on is Brown's distinction between demons and fallen angels. I believe that they are one and the same, whereas Brown separates them. He says fallen angels live in heavenly places and have wings, and that demons don't have wings and are confined to land. He compares fallen angels to the air-force and demons to ground troops. I find this an interesting theory but this does not explain how demons came into existence.
Overall it's an excellent book that covers different info than other books of the same subject. I highly recommend it. As with all Christian books search the Scriptures to make sure the key ideas are indeed in line with the Bible. You will really enjoy it. | | | Write your own review about Devil Demons And Spiritual Warfare
