| I borrowed this book from a friend -- a year or so ago! Now that we're moving and I have to return it, I'm buying my own copy. Like the previous reviewer noted, a few of the songs are a half step lower, which is a bummer when I was trying to work out the timing for the oh-so-fast "All I Need" (I'm learning guitar). It seems likely that the guitar chords Bethany Dillon plays are more difficult, so they wanted to make them easier for the amateur. That's just a guess. Whatever the reason, it is the only thing that keeps me from giving the book five stars. In all other respects, it's all great music from a phenomenal young lady. Her lyrics and melodies are so advanced, it's amazing that she's so young. She perfectly captures the yearning of a woman's heart on "For My Love" and "Beautiful." Being a huge fan of Bethany Dillon's self-titled album, and also an avid piano player, I picked up a copy of the Bethany Dillon songbook. All eleven songs are in the book, each song with guitar chords, a vocal line, and of course a piano solo.
I started out with "Beautiful", my favorite song from the album, and found myself delighted. The arrangement was, well, beautiful. My only qualm was that the song was recorded a half-step lower, so I couldn't play along with the CD. ("Aimless", "All I Need", and "Lead Me On" are all recorded a half-step lower as well.)
Most of the arrangements are fairly simple for piano, and as you play, you will find a lot of similar chord formations throughout. All in all, this is a fun songbook to pick up and play great music without much trouble. Recommended.
