Reviews - What do our customers think?
Boring  May 1, 2010
The characters were somewhat interesting, but overall I found the book to be very boring. No suspense at all.

Not Angela Hunt quality  Apr 12, 2010
This book is previewed as tension filled, dramatic, and a page turner. For me it was anything but! It was boring and predictable. Nothing exciting or unpredictable really happened. The hurricane was left on the outskirts of the story so not much drama there. The main characters were 3 women and they were not that intriguing. Usually, I love a good character novel but this book just went on and on. I couldn't wait for it to end. The most interesting characters were Eddie and his dog. I predicted the end of the book within the first several chapters.

A very captivating book  Feb 1, 2010
I hadn't read many of Angela Hunt's books and bought this one on faith that it might be good. Boy, was I suprised. This book had me from the first chapter and I stayed glued to it till the end. I've since passed this book to all my friends. What a great read. Lyn F.

First time reading Angela Hunt  Jul 15, 2009
I'm an avid reader and picked up this book on a whim...what a great read!! She brought the characters to life. You felt the emotions that the characters were going through. I would recommend this book to anyone. I just brought her book "The Face" and so far it is just as good and better.

No Somnolence Here...  Jun 6, 2009
Angela Hunt has some real talent in this and the Fairlawn series. She can grab the reader's interest without letting up. She brings the characters to life without sleep-inducing detail.

Because this story takes off from page 1 and doesn't slow down, schedule your time so you don't have to put it aside.

Three women from different backgrounds get stuck in an elevator of a high rise building during an approaching hurricane. One has a lover and wants a commitment from him. She was on her way to his office to present to him an ultimatum. Another has a husband who is cheating on her. She was on her way to his office offering no ultimatum The third woman had been on her way up to retrieve an item that she had left behind. Since they have a long wait for Eddie, the elevator repair man to show up, they slowly open up to one another, telling bits and pieces about their lives and loves. You can guess ahead of time what will emerge from these conversations but the way it comes about and the results are worth the read. You can empathize with each of these characters as their pain is brought out.

And then there's Eddie...
