 | Not bad... Mar 26, 2007 |
| I found the title provocative, and her conversational style, okay. There were some definite hard hitting things in the book, and great information for those who don't know or was not sure, in this book it is well defined. There were a few aspects of the book that I did not like, but not enough to give the book a bad review. I would suggest reading it for yourself. There will be some nuggets for you to grab hold to. | | | | Very disappointed Nov 6, 2006 |
| Picked this up on a vendors table at a Christian Women's convention and was really looking forward to an honest look at the issue with some detailed strengthening tips but instead received the usual cliches of "don't do it" and "stay away from tempation". I already knew that! Also the writing is very uneven, sophomoric, with a lot of repetitious thoughts. I'm sure the author had a good intentions but, unfortunately, it didn't process on paper. | | | | Single, Saved, and Having Sex Aug 3, 2006 |
| This book is EXCELLENT! I believe every single person whether they've been married before or not needs to read this book. I have ordered and reordered and reordered this book for my Singles Ministry and the Singles Ministry of other churches many times over. There is NO WAY you can know the Lord or have known the Lord and not be convicted by something in this book. Even the widows of my church is reading this book because of the feedback we have given it. I thank Ty Adams for allowing God to use her in the way He has in writing this book. It will spark conversation if nothing else. God Bless. | | | | Okay...I will have to disagree with several of you Jun 6, 2006 |
| I'm sorry to those of you who could not see the value of this book. I honestly do believe that this book was not written for you. At the point when I discovered this book I was in a serious struggle and Ty was able to touch me in a special way. Everybody recieves there blessings in different ways and I feel that this book can minister to a lot of single and saved young adults who do contiue to have sex or partake in sexual activities with no regards to the "commitment" they have made to God. The fact of the matter is that when you kiss or do any of the other things that she talks about people do in relationships, it can easily lead to sex. The book really tried to get people to think about those things before they do them and not in the heat of the moment or afterwards. I felt that she was trying to get people to understand that you can't ask yourself later how you ended up having sex if you continue to do those things which lead to sex...of course she is not in everyones situation and was mainly speaking from her experiences, but she stated that she was going to speak from her experiences in the beginning of the book. I think that if you are really struggling with this problem and are look for a book to motivate you to change your ways and seriously commit yourself to God...then this book does that and more. As far as the grammer issues...if you had time to notice that...then you really missed the point of the book. God obviously spoke to her heart to write this book knowing that it would touch someone...and the only way you will know if that person is you, is by reading the book. | | | | Single, Saved, and Having Sex by Ty Adams: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review Jan 23, 2006 |
Ty Adams has used her life experiences from being a sexually molested child to a sexually promiscous adult to finally finding God to motivate those headed down the same path. Even though you may try to live the Christian lifestyle, you may find yourself tempted to embark and act on physical desires. Ms Adams uses bible verses as well as her personal experiences to get her point across.
Kudos to Ms Adams for her honest, sincere, and frank insight to offer spiritual advice to those who may be single, saved, and having sex. This is a book that all young, single (especially teenage girls) should read to help them understand and deal with their temptation. It makes for not only an interesting group discussion but also a discussion between parents and teenagers. I plan to pass this book to all the young, single people I know in hopes that it will inspire and encourage them as well.
